INFRASTRUCTURE, LIBRARY & LABS
The school has been designed with great care to meet the objective of holistic education. The total built-up area is 1,29,636 sq.ft. surrounded with lush green campus. The architecture reflects a vibrant urban style construction with all modern facilities and amenities including properly ventilated, spacious and well- lit classrooms with smart class where students experience the joy of learning through digital technology.
JUNIOR LIBRARY
This library is a well-equipped temple of books, created with the theme, ‘Have fun when you learn’. It is a dream place where kids can relax & read books. The ambience is designed with soft toys & well cushioned furniture to promote a love for reading.
SENIOR LIBRARY
The library is the nerve center of any educational complex and more so in Shantiniketan, it is the prime center of learning. It is airy and well stocked with around 6800 books on various subjects we also have Kindles app with large E-Book database. Concerted efforts are made to instill a reading habit amongst students.
SCIENCE LAB
The school has a comprehensive subject specific science laboratory with an exhaustive collection of branded and latest equipment, apparatus & chemicals. In all, there are three separate labs (Chemistry Lab, Biology Lab, Physics Lab) each pertaining to the three different branches of Science.
MATH LAB
To make mathematics interesting for students and to clear their basic concepts the school has a composite Math Lab. Hands-on materials to conduct activities is available. ‘Learning by Doing’ methodology is adopted.
COMPUTER LAB
The computer lab with 105 computers with leased line connection gives students an access to all computers & hands on experience to enhance their knowledge of IT skills and become conversant with technology.
ROBOTICS LAB
Robotics lab offers well structured four year curriculum that moves from basic to advanced levels from Grade IV to VIII. First two years focus on construction aspect, students make 8-10 different robots per year; each aimed at learning mechanical concepts or a special movement. Robotics lab equips students with knowledge to build robots from their imagination. Last two years focus on programming skills. Students learn logic building & programming.
INFIRMARY
The school provides the facility of a sick bay for students who are unwell on campus. A qualified & trained nurse is available full time in the school.
BOTANICAL GARDEN
Shantiniketan boasts of a wide range of plants and trees labelled with their botanical names in its premises. The garden has a collection of succulents, herbs & even a few exotic plants. This garden serves as a multi-purpose area where children get the feel of an open-air classroom. It is an experiential area where they get tactile, visual and other sensory stimulation.
BUTTERFLY GARDEN
Shantiniketan has butterfly station which includes plants with nectar and hosts plants of differing heights to attract more species of butterflies.
ISA BRITISH COUNCIL
This programme helped us to learn new ways to develop and embed international education in our school. Students are encouraged to work in collaboration on curriculum-based work with a number of international partner schools, with involvement of the wider community.
ATAL TINKERING LAB
It aims to foster curiosity, creativity and imagination in young minds and inculcate different skills to develop innovative mind set. ATL is a work space where young minds can give shape to their ideas through hands on do-it-yourself mode; and learn innovation skill. Young children will get a chance to work with tools and equipment to understand the concepts of STEM.(Science, Technology , Engineering and Math). ATL would contain educational and learning ‘do it yourself’ kits and equipment onscience, electronics, robotics, open source micro controller boards, sensors and
3D printers Sound recording studio, startup and computers. Other desirable facilities include meeting rooms and video conferencing facility.
